Calendar, entry and prizes
A game month has 30 game days. The Flying Meet is on the 12th (entries open the 6th) and the Fancy Show on the 20th (entries open the 10th). Entries close the day before the event, and the event runs by itself at the end of its day (you can also watch it). You can enter up to 3 birds in one event, and withdrawing before the event day gives the fee back.

Source: scripts/tournament_data.gd. Only flying breeds enter the Flying Meet and only fancy breeds enter the Fancy Show. A flying bird must be a batcher (not clipped). Each fancy breed belongs to one show type (Satinette, Blondinette, Classic Frill, African Owl and Turbit: Owl-frill; Fantail and Jacobin: Ornamental; English Pouter, Modena and Budapest Tumbler: Exhibition; Archangel: Color) and any fancy bird may enter the Color show.
Divisions
A bird enters the division of its own rarity or a higher one (never a lower one), and any bird under 1 year old can enter the Young Bird cup.

- The Flying Meet gives the entry fee back down to 10th place, the Fancy Show down to 5th. Nothing for a bird that does not come home.
- Only the top 3 earn fame. Tournament fame is capped at 60 per shop week (7 game days), on top of the race fame cap.
- Rivals are the same for everyone: they come from a fixed list seeded by the event, with a spread (7 in the Flying Meet, 6 in the Show) around the division's rival average.
- After the event your bird rests 1 day (Endurance Marathon 2 days; a care breed after a show 2 days). Recovery mix halves it.
Flying Meet scoring
Each bird gets a base score, usually between 40 and 90, from its stats. A rival of the division has a score around the rival average. The best score wins; ties are broken at random. Disc means (Intelligence + Temperament) / 2, and Homing is 0.4 NAV + 0.3 INT + 0.3 bond.
| Event | Formula |
|---|---|
| Timed Flight | 0.50 STA + 0.15 REC + 0.10 PWR + 0.25 Disc |
| Endurance Marathon | 0.55 STA + 0.20 REC + 0.10 PWR + 0.15 Disc |
| Altitude Cup | 80% altitude + 20% landing. Altitude = 0.35 STA + 0.25 PWR + 0.15 REC + 0.15 INT + 0.10 TMP. Landing = 0.40 INT + 0.30 TMP + 0.30 bond, with a random swing of 6. |
| Roller Display | 5 tricks. Skill = 0.40 AGI + 0.25 INT + 0.20 TMP + 0.15 SPD. Each trick is clean with chance 25% + skill (kept between 20% and 95%). A clean trick scores 20 x combo x 0.6, a sloppy one 8 x 0.6 and resets the combo; the combo grows by 0.10 for every clean trick. |
Then the score is changed by how the bird is kept, the weather and its age:
| Weather | Timed | Altitude | Roller | Endurance | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Clear skies | x1.00 | x1.00 | x1.00 | x1.00 | x1.00 |
| Tailwind | x1.00 | x1.03 | x1.00 | x1.03 | x0.90 |
| Headwind | x0.95 | x0.95 | x0.95 | x0.92 | x1.15 |
| Rain showers | x0.94 | x0.92 | x0.90 | x0.92 | x1.35 |
| Hot sun | x0.97 | x0.97 | x1.00 | x0.88 | x1.10 |
| Strong wind | x0.97 | x0.92 | x0.88 | x0.95 | x1.40 |
Risk of losing a bird
| Event | Base risk | If a bad roll happens |
|---|---|---|
| Timed Flight | 0.5% | 80% astray, 20% lands late (score x0.6) |
| Altitude Cup | 0.7% | 55% astray, 30% hawk, 15% lands late (score x0.6) |
| Roller Display | 0.2% | 30% astray, 70% sloppy finish (score x0.6) |
| Endurance Marathon | 1.5% | 70% astray, 30% collapses (score x0.5, rests 3 more days) |
The risk word on the entry screen is low up to 1.5%, moderate up to 4%, high above. A bird that is lost goes through the same lost bird rules as in a race. Only the Altitude Cup can bring a hawk.
Example
A Slenderbill (NAV 65, INT 62, bond 100, REC 70) flying the Altitude Cup in clear skies: Homing = 26 + 18.6 + 30 = 74.6. Loss chance = 0.7% x 1.0 x (1.6 - 0.746) x (1.25 - 0.35) = 0.54%. Of the bad rolls, 30% are a hawk, so the chance of a death is about 0.16%.
Fancy Show judging
A bird is scored in five categories from 0 to 100. Three judges give each category a mark, and the total is the weighted average. The best total in the division wins.
| Show | Feather | Posture | Symmetry | Grooming | Condition |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Owl-frill, Ornamental, Exhibition | 25% | 20% | 20% | 15% | 20% |
| Color | 40% | 15% | 15% | 15% | 15% |
| Category | Formula |
|---|---|
| Feather | Look points (70 if both colour and pattern match the breed's signature look, 55 if one, 40 if none) + purity (+20 for a 100% breed, +12 for 90%, +5 for 75%) + random markings (+-8) + Feather mix (+5) + age (-10 under 120 days). Maximum 100. |
| Posture | 15 + 0.40 TMP + 0.30 INT + 0.20 bond + 0.25 x (form - 70) |
| Symmetry | Form + purity (+10 for 100%, +6 for 90%, +2 for 75%) - 5 per inbreeding level (up to 10). Form is 50 to 95 and fixed for the bird. |
| Grooming | 30 + 15 per groomed day of the last 4 + 5 if groomed on show day + Feather mix (+5) |
| Condition | 28 + 0.25 REC + 0.15 loft cleanliness + 15 if fed + 10 if bond 100 + age (-15 under 120 days, -5 under 1 year, -5 from 5 to 7 years, -12 over 7 years) |
- Grooming costs 2 grain per bird per day and gives +1 bond to a fed bird. Groom the days before the show.
- Judges: Ana likes feather, Ben likes posture and symmetry, Cora likes grooming and condition. Each also adds or removes up to 2 points in some categories, and a small random swing (+-3 at most) is added to every mark.
- Care breeds (short beak, big tail or crop, hood): to enter, the bird must be fed and its loft at least 40% clean. With fewer than 2 groomed days in the last 4, its Condition is capped at 60. With 2 groomed days it earns the Healthy Bird ribbon if top 3; 3 groomed days and a loft at least 60% clean make it "perfect".
- Best in Show: every 4th Fancy Show. The Novice, Club and Master winners are compared after taking 0.25 x (their division's rival average - 66) off their total, so a Master winner needs about 5 points more than a Novice winner. The best gets +500G.

Worked examples
Example 1: Timed Flight for a Slenderbill
Slenderbill (STA 76, REC 70, PWR 46, INT 62, TMP 47), fed, bond 100, loft clean. Disc = 54.5. Base = 0.50 x 76 + 0.15 x 70 + 0.10 x 46 + 0.25 x 54.5 = 66.7. The Novice division has 11 rivals around 62 (spread 7); the best of 11 is typically about 73. That gives it roughly a 12% chance to win and a 47% chance of the top 3 in the Novice division (about 1% and 10% if you enter it in the Club division, which a Common bird may also do). Forget to feed it and the base drops by 12 to 54.7: it then almost never places.
Example 2: stamina specialists dominate Timed Flight
A Tippler (STA 92, REC 72, PWR 55, INT 67, TMP 50) gets Sky Marathon x1.15 on stamina: base = 0.50 x 105.8 + 10.8 + 5.5 + 14.6 = 83.8. In the Novice division it wins about 96% of the time and is in the top 3 more than 99% of the time, with a loss risk of about 0.5%. Prize 100G, fame 18, for a 15G fee. These figures are from the formulas above; the tournament balance pass has not been done yet.
Example 3: preparing a Satinette for the Owl-frill show
A 100% Satinette in its signature look (blue checker), fed, bond 100, loft 100% clean, groomed on 2 of the last 4 days, one of them show day. Feather: 70 + 20 + markings, x1.15 from Silken Lace, which reaches the cap of 100. Symmetry is form + 10, about 82. Grooming = 30 + 30 + 5 = 65. Condition = 28 + 0.25 x 54 + 15 + 15 + 10 = 81.5 (age 1 to 5 years). Posture about 67. With the default weights that is a total of about 81, against Club division rivals averaging 76 with a spread of 6, so about a 1-in-4 chance to take 1st among the 8 (300G and 24 fame) and about 3 chances in 4 to place in the top 3. A skipped grooming day costs 15 grooming points, which is 2.25 points of total score.
